Job Description:

Field Service Technician-Air Compressors



We are seeking transitioning military veterans who are interested in field service and have experience working with a wide variety of industrial compressors and associated equipment. This position requires basic knowledge and skill set of industrial electricity, programming, PLCs and must be mechanically savvy. This is a customer oriented position, must have excellent customer service and communication skills.



MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES




  • On-site customer troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of all brands of air compressors
  • Provide world class customer service by taking a proactive approach to the customer needs and expectations.
  • Take ownership of the success of the territory by utilizing preventative maintenance planning, training and follow up for all customers and equipment within assigned region.
  • Ensure repaired systems meet operating specifications, ensuring QA procedures and documentation. 
  • Read and interpret schematics and electrical diagrams through to the component level.
  • Isolate the system fault for electronic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Document and provide reports of parts, service or repairs. 
  • Complete billing or warranty documentation as needed.


 



QUALIFICATIONS




  • Formal electronics, electrical or mechanical training through trade school, university or MILITARY technical schools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working with customers.
  • Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, cleaning and setting controls
  • Be willing to travel within territory with occasional overnight travel as needed.
  • Experience with PLCs, programming, multimeters, ampmeters, vibration and infrared meters.
  • Must be able to set up rigging equipment and safely remove and reinstall motors and compressors
  • Experienced with hand and power tools such as drill motors, grinders, band saws, etc.
  • Must be self-motivated, have a strong desire to work autonomously and must enjoy daily travel as part of the job.
  • Good work history and driving record are required


 



EDUCATION & TRAINING




  • Military technical training or Associate's degree or higher in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical or other related field.
  • Military training in the following fields desired; Generator Mechanics, Avionics, Electronics, Electrical, Nuclear, Electrical/Electrician. Schools from the Navy, Marines, Air Force, Army, Coast Guard preferred
  • 4-20 years engineering technician/service experience
  • Prefer candidates with the following Military accomplishments:

    • Proven top performer such as Meritorious Promotions, NCO of the quarter/year or any other Command recognition or awards for superior performance
    • Progression in career, promoted ahead of peers
    • On-going or advanced education
